Terms & Conditions – Real Voices Essay Coaching Award
Effective Date: April 1, 2026

The following Terms & Conditions apply to all applicants to the Real Voices Essay Coaching Award (“the Award”), administered by Real College Essays.

Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:
• U.S. high school seniors applying for admission to an accredited four-year college or university for Fall 2027, or
• U.S. community college students applying to transfer to an accredited four-year college or university for Fall 2027.
Applicants must complete the official online application form by the deadline: September 30, 2026.
Children or immediate family members of Real College Essays staff, contractors, or members of the selection committee are not eligible.

Applicants must submit all required information, including short written responses and/or a writing sample, as described in the application form.
All submissions must be the applicant’s own original work.
Incomplete or late submissions will not be considered.

All applications will be reviewed by the Real College Essays selection committee.
The recipient will be chosen based on factors such as effort, authenticity, clarity of voice, and potential for growth as a writer.
The committee’s decisions are final.

The Award consists of five (5) hours of one-on-one college essay coaching delivered via Zoom or a comparable video platform.
No cash will be awarded. The Award is non-transferable and may not be redeemed for cash or other services.
Coaching must be scheduled and completed in October 2026, before November 1 college application deadlines, unless otherwise agreed in writing by Real College Essays.
The Award has an estimated value of $1,500 in professional coaching services.

The selected recipient must respond to the award notification within 48 hours to confirm acceptance.
The recipient must schedule their first coaching session no later than October 5, 2026.
Failure to respond to the notification or to schedule by this deadline may result in forfeiture of the Award and the selection of an alternate recipient, at the discretion of Real College Essays.

Personal information collected during the application process will be handled in accordance with the Real College Essays Privacy Policy.

By accepting the Award, the recipient grants Real College Essays permission to use their first name, high school or college, and general geographic area in announcements, marketing, and promotional materials, without additional compensation.

Real College Essays reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the Award at any time, including changes to deadlines, eligibility, or requirements, where necessary. Any such changes will apply prospectively and will not affect an Award already granted.
